Haverhill police log

HAVERHILL — Police are investigating the theft of $600 worth of fishing rods from a home at Brown Street and Katsaros Drive during the Labor Day weekend.

The five rods were kept in the garage, which was entered between 8 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Monday, police said.

A resident told police his stepson's Haro bicycle was stolen from in front of the Family Dollar Store on Main Street late Sunday morning. The boy was in the store for no more than 20 minutes, his stepfather reported.

The bike was valued at $250.

A Park Street man reported late Monday morning that two of his vehicles had been vandalized. Someone used a black marker to write graffiti on the driver's side of his 2003 Econoline van, police said. The victim also said he has noticed dents and ding marks on his 2006 Chrysler Sebring.

A Maxwell Street woman told police the front window of her house was broken, probably by three stones she found lying on the ground in front of the window. The damage was done between noon Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Saturday

Arrest: Wilfred Lavalley, 33, of 94 Temple St., second floor, driving after license suspension and failure to stop for a stop sign, Locke and Essex streets, 2 a.m.

Assault and battery: 1 Worthen Place, 4:32 a.m.

Vandalism to vehicle: 2 Oak Terrace, 7:45 a.m.

Assault and battery: Bailey Boulevard, 8:57 p.m.

Arrest: Scott Siney, 37, of 450 Water St., warrant for driving after license suspension, 450 Water St., 9 p.m.

Sunday

Vandalism to vehicle: 417 Washington St., 11:30 a.m.

Larceny: 142 Franklin St., 3:28 p.m.

Arrest: Emmanuel Marte, 29, of Foster Street, Lawrence, domestic assault and battery, 45 Nichols St., 11:50 p.m.

Monday

Larceny: 6 Kimball St., 12:38 a.m.

Arrest: Rachael Cain, 31, of 6 Victoria Court, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, 354 Washington St., 8:28 a.m.

Arrest: 16-year-old boy, unarmed robbery, 259 Main St., 8:59 p.m.
