---- — Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley is looking for more Santa’s Helpers this holiday season.

The non-profit group provides holiday gifts to hundreds of children in foster care throughout the valley. This year, the group has received more wish lists than in years past and needs more Santa’s Helpers, organizers said.

Time is of the essence, as the annual Christmas party for the children is in early December.

Santa’s Helpers is a volunteer program that anonymously matches gift givers with a foster child who has prepared a holiday wish list.

The children then receive their gifts at the Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley Christmas party. The Santa’s Helpers programs allows the children to get personalized and unique gifts and create holiday memories they otherwise would not have.

To help, email santashelper@fosterkidsmv.org or call Juliann Grant at 617-909-7414 or Eileen Giordano at 978-683-2220.

Cash donations can also be sent directly to Larry Giordano, Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley Inc., 76 Bonanno Ct., Methuen, MA 01844.

Donations of pizza and beverages, cookies, holiday decorations, wrapping paper, tape, scissors and other items are also needed.

“The holidays are always difficult times for foster children, they often feel alone and disconnected from their families. We have high hopes that our community will step forward again and help support our local foster children and bring a smile to their faces again,” said Larry Giordano, president and founder of Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley.
