Haverhill man faces major drug trafficking charge

HAVERHILL — A 42-year-old Haverhill man was arrested yesterday morning on drug trafficking and weapons warrants.

After the 7:55 a.m. arrest of Fausto Garcia, of 8 Park St., Apt. 1, Haverhill, a warrant was obtained at Haverhill District to search the man's apartment.

A search and subsequent investigation by Haverhill and Peabody police along with the Essex County Drug Task Force resulted in the seizure of 140 grams of cocaine along with an additional 22.6 grams of heroin. The drugs had a street value of $20,000.

Fausto was then charged with major trafficking in heroin and cocaine. He will be arraigned today in Haverhill District Court.
