Cell phone stolen at Boys Club

HAVERHILL — A cell phone was stolen from a 15-year-old boy while he played basketball at the Boys Club on Emerson Street Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The boy told Officer Eric MacKinnon he had hidden the AT&T Pantech phone valued at $80 under his shoes and other belongings while he played basketball.

He told MacKinnon he had placed his belongings in a common area where everyone else had put their things.

He said when he returned to his belongings about 6:30 p.m., the phone was gone.

The cell phone service was cancelled, police said.

The theft was reported at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday.


