Doctor joins Hospice team

Merrimack Valley Hospice is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Ariadne Mueller to its team of hospice professionals. Mueller will serve as associate medical director to Dr. Jennifer Reidy. Mueller, of Somerville, previously served as an attending physician at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. She was a faculty member with Lawrence Family Medicine Residency and Clinical Associate with Tufts University School of Medicine.

"At the end of life there is great potential for healing, both physically and emotionally," said Mueller. "I am also a firm believer that self care is especially important for the hospice staff. I look forward to working with the staff and patients at Merrimack Valley Hospice."

Joan Stygles Hull, president and CEO of Home Health Foundation, said Mueller's experience with under-served communities and interest in palliative care make her a natural fit for her agency, which opened the new Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill this year.

"Her role as associate medical director will enhance the services Merrimack Valley Hospice provides to patients and families facing terminal illness," Stygles Hull said.

Merrimack Valley Hospice is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to serving the needs of terminally ill patients and their families.

The agency is affiliated with Home Health VNA and HomeCare Inc. Together, they serve more than 80 communities throughout Northeastern Massachusetts, the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.
