Man charged with indecent assaults at hospital jailed

HAVERHILL — A Lawrence man arrested on six warrants, including one charging him with indecent assault and battery on three female patients at Baldpate Hospital in Georgetown, was ordered held at Middleton Jail yesterday in lieu of $300 cash bail.

Pablo de la Cruz, 37, of 329 Haverhill St., Lawrence, was charged by Georgetown police with inappropriately touching three female patients at Baldpate on July 22. De la Cruz was also a patient there, police said.

De la Cruz was arrested at the police station at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. It is not clear whether he was apprehended by an officer or came into the station on his own to turn himself in, according to Sgt. Robert Pistone, Haverhill Police Department spokesman.

De la Cruz had the following warrants pending against him: Boston Municipal Court, larceny under $250; Lawrence District Court, threatening to commit a crime and trespassing; and Dorchester District Court, receiving stolen property and assault and battery.

Haverhill District Court Judge Stephen Abany ordered de la Cruz to appear in the local court Dec. 10 for a pretrial conference.
