You can purchase tickets to Thursday's Haverhill vs. Lowell game today until 3 p.m. and tomorrow until 11 a.m. at Haverhill High School, 137 Monument St. Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $4.
On Thursday, adult and student tickets will be sold at the Haverhill Stadium for $7 each. Gates open at 9 a.m. and kickoff is at 10 a.m. At stake is the Ryan-Riddick Trophy, which is named in honor of the schools' legendary football coaches, Haverhill's Paul Ryan and Lowell's Ray Riddick.

Tag days
The Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 288-294 will hold Tag Days to benefit the Gazette Santa Fund this Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to dark. Veterans will be stationed at various locations, including Monument Square, Water and Mill streets, Bradford Square, upper Main Street and River Street near Westgate Plaza.

Ruth's House in need of winter clothing
Ruth's House, a nonprofit, non-denominational thrift store located at 30 Lafayette Square in Haverhill has an urgent need for winter coats for all ages, as well as hats, mittens, gloves and boots. All donations are tax-deductible and donors will be issued receipts for their gifts. Donations of winter clothing may be dropped off on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. You may also drop off donations for the food pantry at Sacred Hearts Church. Ruth's House is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday. Details: 978-521-5575.
Haverhill High School pool swim times
The pool at Haverhill High School offers adult lap swim and family recreational swim on Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost is $3 per person. For more information, call the athletics office at 978-374-5732.
Children/teen activities at the library
The Haverhill Public Library offers two activities for children and one for teens this Friday.
Drop-In Math Fun for Preschoolers ages 3-5 is from 10 to 10:45 a.m. This is an exploration of math concepts using children's stories and activities. No sign-up is needed.
Children ages 5 and up are invited to write and illustrate their own book with "Imagine a Story! Create a Book!" from 2 to 3:30 p.m., in the Cavallaro Room. Registration is required. Children will be writing and illustrating their own book, with the help of a parent or other adult. An actual, published book will come in about two weeks. The first book is free. Teens are invited to participate in free gaming including Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Dance Dance Revolution and Need for Speed from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Johnson Auditorium. Open to students in grades 5-12 only.

Race/walk supports scholarships and more
This year's 23rd annual Bobby Bell 5-Mile Road Race, held Oct. 11 in downtown Haverhill, drew 312 runners, while the 15th annual Joyce Moriarty Memorial Fitness Walk had 60 participants. Proceeds from the event were distributed as follows: $4,000 to the Sapienza Scholarship Fund; $1,388 to the Joyce Moriarty Scholarship Fund; $400 to Haverhill Brightside Inc.; $200 to the Haverhill Police Auxiliary Force; $125 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; $100 to the Michael Walukevich Scholarship Fund and $1,360 to the Andover Striders Running Club.
The event was hosted by The Lasting Room Grill. The top four financial sponsors were Rice Brouillard Electric, Merrimack Valley Hospital, Magellan Aerospace Corp. and Trinity EMS.
