The fourth annual Haverhill Goes Green Environmental Fair will be held on Sunday at GAR Park and organizers are looking for volunteers to help with this free event.
Five volunteers will be needed from 9 a.m. to noon to help with vendor set-up. Several volunteers will also be needed between noon and 4 p.m. to assist as needed and make sure trash does not overflow. Five volunteers will be needed from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to help in the breakdown of vendors and take care of trash.
Organizers plan to provide pizza and beverages for volunteers. Those interested in volunteering are asked to email email@example.com. This year’s Haverhill Goes Green is free and open to the public and will feature live music, food, and about 20 vendors representing agriculture.
YMCA to celebrate Healthy Kids Day
The Haverhill YMCA will celebrate Healthy Kids Day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This free community event is open to everyone and is intended to get kids moving and learning, and families living healthier. Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of families and help them get a jump on creating a healthier summer. The event will include fun, active play and educational activities that will inspire kids to carry a spirit of excitement and exploration throughout their summer, including open gymnastics and rock climbing, Curious Creatures, food and play productions, basketball clinic, summer camp information and more.

Child safety seat checkup Saturday
LAWRENCE — Lawrence General Hospital and Commonwealth Motors are sponsoring a child safety seat checkup on Saturday.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Commonwealth Chevrolet, 155 Marston St. (Exit 45 off Interstate 495). Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to check your child’s safety seat.
Cemetery plans yard sale Sunday
The Hilldale Cemetery Association will hold a yard sale on Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. and lasting until items are sold out.
The association is accepting donations of items for this event. Donations can be dropped off on Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the Hilldale Cemetery restoration fund. For more information, contact Tom Spitalere at 978-376-2807.
Museum plans Past Finders summer camp
The Past Finders summer program at the Buttonwoods Museum, now in its 23rd season, begins July 9.
Sessions are one week long, meeting Tuesday through Friday. Children may sign up for one or both sessions. Morning drop-off begins at 9 a.m., and pick-up is at 4 p.m. The program is for children in grades one to seven and is designed to teach them about history in a fun and imaginative way. Past Finders staff encourages children to appreciate history through hands-on activities, creative arts projects and field trips.

Session 1, Revolutionary Revel, is July 9 to 12 and focuses on the American Revolution through crafts, food and field trips. Cost is $160. Session 2, Digging into Archaeology, is Aug. 6 to 9. Participants will try cross-mending, dating and researching objects to reconstruct the lives of the original owners. Visits to an archaeological site or museum are included. Cost is $160.
