HAVERHILL — The city will celebrate our nation’s independence tomorrow night with a barrage of booming fireworks that will illuminate the sky above Riverside Park.
The $15,000 display by Atlas PyroVision Productions of Jaffrey, N.H. begins at 9:15 p.m. and will last 22 to 23 minutes, ending with a grand finale. Rain date is Friday, same time.
This is the fifth year Atlas has been in charge of the fireworks and as in past years the company will offer up some pyrotechnic surprises, such as three-dimensional displays, said Vincent Ouellette, director of recreation for the city.
“Their displays have always been good and their safety record is impeccable,” Ouellette said. “The site is always left clean of debris and all unexploded ordinances are accounted for and set off to ensure no explosives are left behind.”
The celebration takes place behind Trinity Stadium and begins at 6 p.m. Entertainment is by a Good Times DJ, who will play music for line dancing and will get kids and adults involved in various musical games.
Two “fun time” photo booths will offer families an opportunity to have their photos taken free of charge, courtesy of Haverhill Bank. Food vendors will be selling items such as french fries, sausage sandwiches, fried dough, ice-cream, fresh squeezed lemonade, slush, hot-dogs and other items.
Bring blankets, lawn chairs, coolers and safe lawn game items. Admission is free.
Pets are not allowed.
No bicycle riding allowed inside the area where people will be gathered to watch the display.
Alcohol is prohibited.
