The public library publishes its fall program schedule for youth online at haverhillpl.org/kids.

New programs include Mother Goose on the Loose (for children up to age 3) Oct. 17, 24 and Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m. This interactive session uses rhymes, songs, puppets, and musical instruments to stimulate the learning of babies and toddlers. forum on reclaiming democracy

The Social Justice Committee of the Universalist Unitarian Church of Haverhill will host a public forum on the local and national movement to reclaim democracy Oct. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church, 15 Kenoza Ave.

Annual Walk for Youth Oct. 20

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill will hold its eighth annual Walk for Youth Oct. 20 at 10 a.m.

Rain date is Oct. 21. The walk starts and finishes at the club, 55 Emerson St. The 2-mile route is through the downtown.

Walkers of all ages will enjoy the safe, family-friendly walking route. Water and light refreshments will be provided.

This annual fundraiser for the club helps pay for after-school educational programs, computer training, fine arts programs including art/dance and music lessons, character and leadership building programs, photography, cheerleading, teen clubs, organized sports programs, Girls Scouts, and a nutrition program.

Anyone interested is sponsoring a walker or making a donation is asked to call 978-374-6171.

Restaurant’s sales help Boys & Girls Club

Ninety Nine restaurants will donate some of their proceeds from sales during October to the Boys & Girls Club.

The local Ninety Nine on River Street is participating to support the Greater Haverhill club.

Library plans book sale, other events

GROVELAND — The Langley-Adams Library fall book sale, bake sale, open house and Great Dog Rescue Event are coming up.

A preview sale will be on Oct. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. The public book sale and all other events will be Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A bag sale will be from 9 a.m. to noon.

The events will be at Groveland Town Hall, 183 Main St. More information is available by emailing ladube@comcast.net.
