Council on Aging plans BSO rehearsal trip

The Council on Aging will host a trip to Symphony Hall on May 2 for the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s morning rehearsal performance.

The rehearsal program will be conducted by Bernard Haitink and includes works by Brahms and Shubert. Bus will depart at 9 a.m and will return at approximately 2 p.m. Cost is $35 and seating is limited.

Lions Club to hold Twisted Magic Show Feb. 10

The Haverhill Lions Club will hold a Twisted Magic Show Feb. 10 at the Elks Hall, 24 Summer St., from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

There will also be balloon twisting for children in attendance. A donation of $5 per person is requested and tickets will be available at the door.

The Haverhill Lions Club raises money for eye research, scholarships, eye exams and eyeglasses for those who cannot afford them. The club meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at Maria’s Restaurant, 83-85 Essex St., at 6:30 p.m.

Council on Aging to hold Valentine Party

The Council on Aging will hold a Valentine Day luncheon and dance Feb. 14 at 12:30 p.m. at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. Music will be provided by A Goodtime DJ George Whitehouse.

Comedy night to raise money for Hillie sports is March 8

The fifth annual Haverhill High School Comedy Night will be held March 8 at DiBurro’s function hall. Four top professional comedians will perform.

The event will feature a long list of raffle items as well as silent and live auction items.

All proceeds benefit the Haverhill High School Athletic Program.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the high school, 137 Monument St.
