HAVERHILL — Comedy for a Cause, Community Action Inc.’s annual fundraising event, is March 15 at the Haverhill Country Club, 58 Brickett Lane.
This comedy triple-header features Boston favorites Graig Murphy, Carolyn Plummer and Jim Lauletta, along with a live auction, raffles and mystery balloons.

Foundation seeks better education proposals
LAWRENCE - The Deshpande Foundation, in partnership with the Lawrence Public Schools, has announced the Merrimack Valley Sandbox (MVS) Education Innovation Challenge to encourage educators and teachers within the Lawrence Public Schools to explore innovative new approaches to education.
The Deshpande Foundation’s mission is to catalyze innovative thinking that results in significant social and economic impact. It has helped establish the Merrimack Valley Sandbox (MVS) which has been working to connect and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Lowell and Lawrence. As part of its ongoing efforts to encourage innovation, the Deshpande Foundation is announcing the MVS Education Innovation Challenge for the Lawrence Public Schools.
The MVS Education Innovation Challenge aims to encourage teachers to seize this opportunity to try innovative and entrepreneurial approaches within their schools.
Accepted proposals will be eligible for up to $1000 in project funds to pilot the proposed projects.

Fly fishing show planned in Pelham March 2-3
PELHAM – The 11th annual Fly Fish New Hampshire Show will be March 2 and 3 at Pelham Fish and Game Club.
Merrimack River Valley Trout Unlimited and the Fish and Game Club are sponsoring the show, which features seminars by experts, demonstrations and vendor booths.

KINGSTON — The Harlem Wizards will take on the Sanborn Geeks-in-Sneaks in a basketball fundraiser Tuesday, March 5, at Sanborn Regional High School.
The game begins at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. The event, hosted by the Memorial School PTO, is being held to raise money for school enrichment programs and field trips.
General admission seats are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets are available beginning Monday, Feb. 18, and can be purchased at the libraries in Newton and Kingston, Newton Town Hall and the Memorial School office.
