Church plans 'This or That Sale'

The Calvary Baptist Church Women’s Ministry and Bible Study Group will hold a “This or That Sale” on June 29 from noon to 3 p.m.

The sale will feature gently used women’s clothing and accessories, along with ceramic pieces, all at reasonable prices. The sale will take place on the grounds of Calvary Baptist Church, 13 Ashland St., and also inside the church in the Fellowship Hall. Walk for Life June 15

The Pregnancy Care Center will hold its 21th annual 2-mile Walk For Life fundraiser on June 15 from 9 to 11 a.m., rain or shine.

The event will be at the following locations: The Haverhill High School track, 137 Monument St.; Hope Community Church, 11 Hale St., Newburyport; and St. Agnes Parish, 186 Woburn St., Reading. The annual event funds the PCC’s client services program, which provides counseling, food, clothing and furniture to local families in need. The Pregnancy Care Center has offices in Amesbury, Haverhill and Lawrence. The PCC opened 28 years ago and last year had more than 1,600 client visits. The centers provide services designed to empower women and men in making informed choices about unexpected pregnancy, sexual integrity and recovery from post abortion trauma. Tangible assistance through a food pantry, baby items such as children’s clothing, cribs, strollers, diapers and formula are available at each center.

Talk on prostate cancer is Monday

Dr. Ankur Mehta from Steward Health System will lead a prostate cancer information program and support group on July 8 at 6 p.m. in the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.

Mehta will discuss the latest methods of preventing prostate cancer. To reserve your seat, please contact Betty Burnell at 978-374-2390, ext. 10.
