With the annual VFW Santa Parade fast approaching on Nov. 24, organizers are working to raise the money needed to pay this year’s parade expenses.
The cost to put this year’s show on the streets of the city of Haverhill is $35,000, with about $21,000 raised to date. In addition to the annual Business and Family Boosters Clubs, and the money blanket collection drive held during the parade, organizers have reached out to Papa Gino’s restaurant in Bradford Square for support.
On Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m., customers who eat in or take out orders from the restaurant will net 20 percent of the total proceeds to this year’s parade. But in order for their spending to count, parade supporters must go on the website www.vfwsantaparade.com and print out the Papa Gino’s Donation form and bring it with them when placing their order.
