Sons of Italy’s CraZy Turkey Raffle Friday
The Sons of Italy will present their CraZy Turkey Raffle on Friday, Nov. 1 at the Victor Emanuel Lodge, 124 Washington St. Beans and hot-dogs will be served at 6 p.m. and the super craZyness begins at 7 p.m. Because of the many donations from many local businesses, the event will feature super large gift baskets. Medicare information meeting tomorrow
Susan Cripps and Pat Paradis of the Elder Services SHINE program will be at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St., tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. to discuss important Medicare information for this year’s re-enrollment period. This is a “must attend” meeting for all Medicare recipients. The public is invited and no registration is required.
Girls basketball clinic offered by YMCA
The Haverhill YMCA is offering basketball clinics for girls on Saturday mornings beginning Nov. 9 at the Rockingham Athletic Club, 175 Plaistow Road, Plaistow. The program will run for eight weeks and will be led by Shawna Murphy-Mottram, Beth Eddy and Michelle Joubert. The clinic for girls in grades 3 and 4 is from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. The clinic for grades 5 through 8 is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. More information is available from Clint Clay at firstname.lastname@example.org. The YMCA is also registering players for its fall Girls Basketball League. The league is for girls in grades 3 through 8. Bake sale announced
St. Joseph School of All Saints Parish has announced its annual PTO Bake Sale. Baked goods will be sold after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Nov. 2, and after the 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Masses on Sunday, Nov. 3, at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave. This bake sale is open to the public. Proceeds support school events for students.
Free seminar on memory is planned
Neuropsychology and Retraining of Memory and Cognitive Function, a medical Meet the Expert seminar with Neuropsychologist Dr. Buck H. Woo, is Nov. 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. in Merrimack Valley Hospital’s first floor auditorium. Attendees will learn why combining neurological assessment with cognitive training is effective, why different memory disorders require different treatments, and how to identify cognitive disorders from patient deficits. Free and open to the public. Registration is required. Light refreshments will be served. One contact hour in nursing awarded at the end of the presentation.
