Chili cook-off is set for Saturday

The Haverhill Firefighting Museum will hold its sixth annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the museum, 75 Kenoza Ave.

This event is open to the public. Tasting and judging are from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $10. Free for children under 5.

Attendees will judge 20 chili recipes in three categories: Best Individual, Best Restaurant and Best Firehouse. The event includes a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, cash bar, pizza, salad, sausages, desserts and more. For more information contact Patricia Graham at 978-835-1565.

Martini Family Fundraiser is tomorrow

Friends and loved ones of the Martini family of Bradford will hold a fundraiser for the family tomorrow at 7 p.m. at The Claddagh Pub, 399 Canal St., Lawrence.

Tickets are $20 each. The event includes silent auctions, raffles, music, food and a cash bar. All proceeds go to the Martini family. More information is available online at http://martinifamilyfundraiser.webs.com.

October Pumpkin Festivals begin

this weekend

Chris’ Farm Stand at Silsby’s Farm, 436 Salem St., will hold its annual Pumpkin Festival every weekend in October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Columbus Day.

Admission is free. Fresh vegetables, pumpkins and fall decorations such as dried corn stalks and straw bales will be available for purchase.

Activities, some of which require a small fee, include hay rides, pony rides, a hay castle, corn maze and pick your own pumpkin patch. A “love a bunny” pen offers children a chance to interact with live bunnies and be photographed by their parents.

There will be free farm animal and tractor displays, a free haunted house for toddlers as well as fall photo opportunities. A country cookout is part of the festivities. Visit online at chrisfarmstand.com or call 978-994-4315.

Annual Greek Festival is this weekend

Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Church will hold its annual three-day festival this weekend in the Hellenic Community Center, behind the church at 154-156 Winter St.
