Pentucket Bank breaks ground for new branch
Pentucket Bank recently held a groundbreaking ceremony in celebration of plans to move its RiversEdge Plaza branch to land next to St. John the Baptist Church on Lincoln Avenue, directly across from Haverhill Stadium.
The new bank will be named the Stadium Branch.
"We are in desperate need of a larger, full service facility to provide more convenience to our customers in the Riverside area of Haverhill," said Scott Cote, bank president and CEO. He said the two-story brick building will have two drive-up banking bays and drive-in and walk-up ATMs, in addition to the services offered at the RiversEdge Plaza branch. The 5,800-square-foot building will include a conference room, basement and two-stall garage for the bank's messenger van. Construction begins this week with a completion date of next spring. Cote said his bank is grateful to the church and the Boston Archdiocese for the purchase of the land, as well as neighbors who have expressed their support.

Troubadour to perform in concert
Singer, songwriter, storyteller and modern-day troubadour Lee Domann will perform Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 471 Main St.
Domann's presentations reflect varied roots: The open sky and often lonely spaces of his home state, Kansas; the journey of the spirit leading to Nashville, for 27 years, and now to Albuquerque; as well as the musical roots of the folk, country, Celtic, and gospel traditions. His music has been recorded by a variety of artists, including Kathy Mattea, Riders in the Sky, Mark Lowry, Jake Hess, and the Gold City Quartet.
Troubadours traditionally had to rely on patrons for support and security. Domann, a former parish minister of the United Methodist Church, relies on a spiritual community of friends. He charges an up-front fee to cover some of his travel costs. A free-will offering supports him, his family and the cost of CDs he makes available after each show.
More information is available from the church at 978-372-2843. More information about Domann is available online at www.leedomann.com.
