HAVERHILL - City narcotics agents charged a Haverhill man with selling drugs in a city bar last night, and also arrested the bartender for allegedly interfering with police.

Haverhill police Sgt. John Arahovites said the arrests were the latest in a series of drug-related incidents in RG's Pub at 242 Winter St. over the years, and that the establishment will be reported to the Haverhill License Commission.

Wilbert "Willie" Segura, 38, of 91 North Ave., was charged with trafficking cocaine.

Bartender Stephanie Conroy, 30, of 440 North Ave., Apt. 95, Haverhill, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Arahovites said Segura has been under investigation for several weeks after detectives received complaints from bar patrons and others about alleged drug dealing involving him, usually in the men's room.

Detectives said they watched Segura enter the pub last night and caught him selling cocaine. They seized 22 $50 zip-close bags of powdered cocaine weighing about 17.9 grams from him. Police also found an additional 2.2 grams of cocaine in his Chevrolet pickup truck.

Police seized the cocaine, the pickup truck and $1,236 in cash that Segura had. Arahovites valued the drugs at about $1,400.

The bar was shut down until owner Russ Littlefield arrived.
