GROVELAND - You can learn to knit, build a Japanese garden, hook a rug or landscape your home the green way this spring by attending Northern Essex Community College's personal enrichment adult education workshops offered at Veasey Park.

More than two dozen workshops, from a one-day Saturday writing workshop to a six-week Thursday evening workshop on landscape design, will be offered at the historic property. Other courses offered include an introduction to astronomy, creative drawing, knitting, introduction to bird-watching, Reiki and painting with watercolors.

Courses begin in February, March, April and June and are offered at night and on weekends.

"Our goal is to offer unique courses in a refreshing setting," said Mary Shattuck of the college's Corporate and Community Education Center. "We've created a very exciting selection of personal enrichment courses focusing on arts, relaxation, gardening, knitting, and including astronomy and bird-watching."

More information and registration is by calling 978-556-3837 or e-mailing mshattuck@necc.mass.edu. A complete listing of courses offered at Veasey Park is available online at www.necc.mass.edu/noncredit/veasey_park/index.php.
