Fire forces Haverhill family from home

HAVERHILL — A family of four was forced out of its home tonight by a brush fire that caused damage to a building on Kernwood Avenue, Red Cross officials said.

Ashley Studley, spokeswoman for the Red Cross, said two adults and two children were forced from the home. She said it was unclear whether the building received only smoke damage or fire damage as well.

No identifications of the people involved were available from the Red Cross or the city's Fire Department.

The fire began shortly after 8 p.m.
