Thieves steal cigarettes from Pelham store

PELHAM — Thieves stole “thousands of dollars” worth of cigarettes in a burglary at Ray’s State Line Market overnight Wednesday, police Lt. Gary Fisher said.

A burglar alarm shortly before midnight brought officers to the store on Mammoth Road.

Fisher said they found the front door open.

A large quantity of cigarettes had been taken, he said.

The thieves fled before police arrived.

Surveillance video showed three men wearing hooded sweatshirts removing cases and cartons of cigarettes. Their faces weren’t visible.

Police are asking anyone with information about the burglary to call police at 635-2411.

Fisher said it had been a long time since the store had been burglarized.

In January 2010, thieves got away with more than $2,000 in cigarettes and beer.
