Thieves hitting Southern New Hampshire

Londonderry makes arrest in interrupted burglary

Within six hours Friday morning, Londonderry police received a sudden influx of calls.

“People were reporting that someone had been in their cars and they were all left unlocked,” Londonderry police Detective Chris Olson said. “All the calls were from the same area of town.”

Police agencies throughout Southern New Hampshire respond to car and house break-ins frequently. When they do happen, officials said, they usually come in bunches.

“They’re generally all in bunches,” Plaistow deputy Chief Kathleen Jones said. “We might not get any for a while and then, all of a sudden, we get hit a lot in a two- or three-week period.”

Right now, Plaistow is in one of those slow periods. Since the beginning of the year, the town has only received reports of two residential burglaries and one vehicle break-in. Both of the residential burglaries resulted in arrests.

“We’ve got a good success rate when it comes to solving residential burglaries,” Jones said. “We’ll usually team up with other agencies to solve it.”

In Londonderry, police made an arrest in a burglary early yesterday morning.

A woman called police just after midnight after she heard noises coming from downstairs on 30 Bockes Road. When they arrived, officers said they found a suspect running from the house into the woods.

With the help of their K-9, police found their suspect at his own house, just a few doors down.

“He had broken in through cutting a screened window,” Olson said. “He had taken her keys and had loaded a flat-screen television and a pillowcase full of alcohol into the victim’s car.”

Sean Koehler, 24, was charged with burglary and attempted theft of a motor vehicle. Koehler was arraigned yesterday and held on $10,000 cash bail. he was still in jail late yesterday.
