Fired DPW supervisor is rehired

Greg Morris supervised worker caught dumping snow into the Merrimack

Morris was working on a maintenance crew for the state Department of Transportation when he applied to return to the Lawrence DPW as a heavy equipment operator. He said he was not asked about the dumping incident when he interviewed for the job.

Morris, 44, a Lawrence resident, said he sought to return to the Lawrence DPW after Rivera defeated Lantigua in November.

“It’s a new direction with the city,” he said. “I thought it would be a good time to apply for the job and come on back.”

His is earning about $52,000 annually, Isensee said.
