Southern New England coast braces for nor'easter

BOSTON (AP) — Southern New England is bracing for its second barrage of wind and rain in little more than a week, this time from an approaching nor'easter.

Forecasters said the storm won't be as strong as Superstorm Sandy, but could cause power outages and some moderate coastal flooding, along with rain and light snow inland.

The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning earlier today for coastal Connecticut, south coastal Massachusetts and southern Rhode Island. A high wind advisory is in effect for other coastal areas.

North winds up to 40 mph and gusts up to 60 are forecast for coastal Connecticut. Northeast winds up to 30 mph and gusts up to 60 could buffet southern Rhode Island and south coastal Massachusetts. Winds up to 40 mph and gusts to 60 are expected on Cape Cod and the islands.
