Their trophy moment

Hundreds head to Methuen High to see Red Sox trophy

METHUEN — A bit of baseball magic came to the city yesterday, when the Red Sox 2013 World Series championship trophy paid a visit to Methuen High.

Hundreds turned out to see the trophy and have their pictures taken with it. A line stretched out of the school’s doors before the trophy and its keepers even arrived.

People from all walks of life showed up, decked out in their Red Sox attire for a chance to hold onto a bit of local history.

The only rule: No touching the solid gold flags or silver baseball.

As they exited, fans got a chance to sign giant cards for the team, which were soon filled with scrawled signatures and big, block-lettered words of congratulations and thanks.
