Accused stabber held pending hearing Tuesday

NORTH ANDOVER — A woman accused of stabbing a man is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing Tuesday.

Police were called to 143 Pleasant St. at 12:30 a.m. Thursday when a caller reported being stabbed three times. Officer Joseph Kamal arrested Elna Brienzi, 32, of 143 Pleasant St., and charged her with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Lt. Charles Gray said the alleged victim, a 37-year-old man, was treated at Lawrence General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe the alleged stabbing resulted from a domestic dispute. Asked what the man was stabbed with, Gray said that is being investigated.
