Go Green back in Windham Saturday

WINDHAM — The Go Green Fair is returning to Windham.

The fair brings together New Hampshire businesses that put an emphasis on protecting the environment or conserving and efficiently using resources.

This is the third year the Go Green Club at Windham High School has organized the program.

“This year the fair has really grown,” Go Green president Kate Farrell said. “We have over 50 vendors who will be selling interesting products and services, and we will be showing a free family movie again.”

Go Green is a small club — just six members — but is trying to make a difference in the world.

“We are trying to spread the word that we can all make a difference in our environment by taking small and large steps to leave a smaller carbon footprint,” Farrell said.

Among the vendors is Snow Pond Farm, which raises alpacas.

Owner Pam Lindquist, who runs the farm with daughter Wendy, wanted to participate in the fair.

“Our main reason is to educate the public on farming,” she said, “and the use of fiber and fleece and natural products.”

The fair will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school, 64 London Bridge Road.

A yard sale will encourage people to “reduce, reuse and recycle.” It will support a student trip to Spain.

A book sale will boost the new Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County, which aids homeless families.

Story Dance Touring Company will perform at 1 p.m., a show based on “The Lorax,” the eco-conscious book by Dr. Seuss.

There will be raffles and student art on display.
