ANDOVER — A man whom New Jersey police have searched for since 1992 was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police said he sexually assaulted a teenage girl at his Andover home.
Franklin Pillier, 40, of 3 Memorial Circle, also known by the alias Louis Andino, was arrested by Andover police after an Andover High School student under the age of 18 told school staff on Tuesday that she was sexually assaulted by him, according to a police report filed by Andover Police Detective Kevin Aufiero.
Pillier pleaded not guilty yesterday to two counts of aggravated rape and was held on $25,000 cash bail.
After police ran his fingerprints, they learned he was also wanted as a fugitive from justice on a warrant from New Jersey on charges of possession of a controlled substance and a parole violation, according to a Lawrence District Court clerk. He pleaded not guilty to and was held without bail on the fugitive from justice charge, the clerk said.
Andover Police Lt. James Hashem declined to comment on whether Pillier had a prior criminal history or if he was a registered sex offender.
On Tuesday, police received a report of sexual assault from a counselor at the high school, Hashem said. Police went to the school and interviewed a school employee and a student, whom police said is the victim, Aufiero wrote in his police report.
Pillier is due back in court for a pretrial hearing on May 9, according to the court clerk.
