North Andover man killed in motorcycle accident in Wenham

A motocyclist who died after colliding with a lumber truck on Route 1A yesterday in Wenham has been identified as Steven M. Daly, 61, of North Andover.

The accident closed Route 1A, near Wenham Lake, for roughly four hours yesterday afternoon. The accident occurred on the section of Route 1A near Great Pond Road shortly after 2 p.m. Daly's motorcycle collided with an oncoming lumber truck. No charges have been issued as of this afternoon, said Carrie Kimball Monahan, spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney's office. Daly was pronounced dead Thursday after being transported to Beverly Hospital, according to Wenham police. The driver of the lumber truck, a 60 year-old man from Gloucester, sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital. The incident remains under investigation by Wenham police and Massachusetts State Police.
