Driver uninjured in I-93 tractor-trailer accident

ANDOVER — The driver of a tractor trailer escaped unharmed when his rig crashed off the right side of Interstate 93 North last night, according to state police.

“The tractor trailer unit was well off the road and into the woods,” State Trooper Kenneth Gaetz said.

“It was headed northbound and lost control for reasons yet to be determined. The cab stayed upright, but the trailer rolled over and onto its side,” he said.

The crash occurred at 8:24 p.m. just after Route 125 at the Wilmington/Andover line. Wilmington Fire Department crews responded to the scene. The driver said he was not injured.

All lanes of the highway remain open and traffic was not affected as state police assigned to the Andover barracks responded, along with the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section.

The crash remains under investigation.
