Report: One Navy Yard victim formerly from North Andover

One of the dozen victims in the Washington D.C. Navy Yard massacre has been identified as a former North Andover man, according to reports.

Martin "Marty" Bodrog, 54, was born Oct. 15, 1958. He lived in Woodbury, N.J., Martinsville, Ind., and North Andover before graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1981. Bodrog was a 22-year veteran of the Navy, serving as a Surface Warfare Officer.

He was the father of three girls between the ages of 16 and 23.

He was described as a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins, and was active in his church, and taught Sunday school, according to the obituary notice. In addition to his daughters, Bodrog is survived by his wife of 25 years.
