Plaistow library director starts new chapter

(Continued)

The first days on the job have been busy for Vinton, but so far he is pleased with the reception he has received from the community.

“Folks haven’t been shy about introducing themselves,” he said. “People have knocked on my door just to say hi, which has been great.”

Prior to Sanbornton, Vinton was a reference librarian at Plymouth State University and Frostburg State University in Maryland.

Vinton’s salary is $60,000.

He replaces Diane Arato-Gavrish, who left in May. She is now assistant director at Chester Public Library.

Calls to library trustees were not returned.
