PLAISTOW — Plaistow Recreation invites residents to celebrate the Red Sox championship on Wednesday when the team brings its 2013 World Series championship trophy to Town Hall.

The trophy will be on display on the second floor from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to take photographs with the trophy on a first-come, first-served basis.

Town Hall is ADA accessible and parking will be available.

Hampstead Academy hosts ‘Once on This Island Jr.’

HAMPSTEAD — Hampstead Academy’s Drama Club, consisting of 18 students from grades 5 to 8, will present the MTI Broadway Junior production “Once on This Island Jr.” tonight at 7 and Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Doors will open 20 minutes prior to show time in the Hampstead Academy Auditorium, 320 East Road.

Children’s author comes to Hampstead

HAMPSTEAD — Award-winning children’s author Cynthia Lord will give a presentation and book signing at Hampstead Public Library on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public. Lord’s first published novel, “Rules,” won many awards, including the N.H. Great Stone Face award and the Newbery Honor Medal.

Her subsequent novels, “Touch Blue” and “Half A Chance,” as well as her “Hot Rod Hamster” picture book series, have been very popular.

Learn more about her books and inspiration. A limited number of books will be available for purchase and signing. Attendees should also feel free to bring their own copies of Lord’s books for signing.

Social media boot camp offered in Windham

WINDHAM — A social media and marketing boot camp for small businesses will be 5:30 p.m. on April 17 at Al Letizio Sales & Marketing, 91 Indian Rock Road.

Trent Sanders, co-founder of 36Creative, will lead the workshop.
