Two bicyclists killed at Hampton Beach

HAMPTON -- Two bicyclists were killed and three others injured when a motor vehicle hit them during an event at Hampton Beach.

The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. on Ocean Boulevard at the Underwood Bridge spanning Hampton Harbor.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that a motor vehicle struck several bicyclists who were participating in the local event.

Five people were taken to local hospitals, two of whom were pronounced dead.

The names of the victims were not released pending notifications.
