3-car crash on Rt. 213 causes traffic woes during evening commute

METHUEN — A three car pile-up caused major traffic on Route 213 headed from Methuen into Salem around 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

Three cars crashed into each other on the highway linking Interstates 93 and 495. State police were still investigating what caused the accident at press time.

“We are still putting the pieces together,” State Trooper Michael O’Brien said.

He could only say that there were no fatalities involved and only minor injuries occurred.

State Police would not release the names of the drivers or information about the cars involved.
