Salem, NH, man found dead on railroad tracks

BOSTON - A 40-year-old Salem, N.H., man was found dead on commuter rail tracks in Boston early yesterday morning, authorities said.

The man's name was not released last night by MBTA officials.

The body was found on commuter rail tracks on Track 5 at North Station at about 4 a.m. His injuries were consistent with being struck by a train, an MBTA spokesman said.

An investigation into the man's death is underway.

Commuter rail service was not affected.

No further details on the death were available last night.
