One hurt in Salem crash

SALEM — One person was taken to the hospital this morning following a crash that briefly closed part of Interstate 93 south.

The unidentified victim was taken to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen with injuries not believed to life threatening, according to Capt. Jon Brackett of the Salem Fire Department.

A second person involved in the accident declined an ambulance ride to the hospital, he said.

The crash occurred about 7:10 a.m. between Exits 1 and 2, delaying traffic for a short time before lanes were reopened. Brackett did not know how many vehicles were involved.
