Lawrence police capture three armed robbery suspects at convenience store

“The holdup alarm got us there quick, and we were able to surround the place,” the chief said.

“Nobody was injured. Three are under arrest. We’re happy with the way it turned out,” Romero said. “It could have been a serious hostage situation. It could have been a lot worse. These individuals surrendered, and it was smart on their part because we had the place surrounded.”

Lawrence police received backup coverage from Andover, Methuen and North Andover police, who were prepared to handle other routine calls as the convenience store standoff drew the entire Lawrence Police shift.
