Kids flee Jeep in Johnson Street crash

NORTH ANDOVER — Four people, including a 17-year-old driver, were in a Jeep Grand Cherokee that rolled over on Johnson Street late Friday night.

The kids in the Jeep fled the area after the rollover crash was reported to police at 10:45 p.m. Two of them required treatment at Lawrence General Hospital, police said.

The driver was immediately taken to LGH after the accident. But then police had to “locate the other passengers that fled the scene,” according to a press release.

“Over the next few hours police officers had to determine who was in the crash and check on their well being,” according to the statement.

Police said they “were not given much information to work with” but officers did determine four juveniles were in the Jeep. Their names were being withheld by police last night.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges were filed yesterday, police said.
