Police still searching for Plaistow couple

PLAISTOW — Authorities continue to receive tips, but have been unable to find a local couple wanted in the abuse of a 3-year-old boy.

Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White of the U.S. Marshal’s Office said yesterday investigators are getting numerous calls from people who believe they have seen the couple, including some possible sightings on Thanksgiving Day.

“Unfortunately, none of them led to their whereabouts at this time,” White said.

He said he could not comment further on the calls.

Roland Dow of Plaistow, 27, and his live-in girlfriend, Jessica Linscott, 23, face charges in the abuse of her young son.

Rockingham County Attorney James Reams announced Wednesday that Dow will be charged with first- and second-degree assault for allegedly burning the little boy’s wrist and fingers, and striking him in the head, causing a serious brain injury and seizures. Each of the two charges is punishable by 10 to 30 years in state prison, Reams said.

Dow also will be charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child for failing to seek medical care for the child. Linscott faces six child endangerment charges for failing to protect her son, who is in state custody and recovering from his injuries. Each of those charges is punishable by up to a year in jail.

Since Reams’ announcement, a tipster reportedly spotted the couple about 7 p.m. Wednesday at Honey Dew Donuts in Lynn, according to Lt. Michael Vail of the Lynn Police Department.

Lynn asked area police departments to be on the lookout for a red, late 1990s Volvo with green bumper stickers and a luggage rack. Vail said an officer investigated the report, but could not confirm it was Dow and Linscott.

Plaistow police received a call last week from Exeter Hospital, saying a little boy was dropped off with serious head injuries, massive bruises and burns. The couple told doctors the injuries were self-inflicted, but doctors concluded that was not true.
