High cash bail set in child abuse case

PLAISTOW — Neither Jessica Linscott, 23, nor Roland Dow, 27, expects to make bail, set earlier this morning in 10th Circuit Court.

Arraigned via video conferencing from jail, Dow's bail was set at $500,000 cash. Should he make bail, which he is not expected to do, he must live with his mother in Newton.

More charges are expected against Dow in the child abuse case that shocked the region. Dow is suspected of burning and beating Linscott's 3-year-old son James.

Linscott , who faces misdemeanor child endangerment charges, is being held on $100,000 cash bail. She is not expected to make bail, but would be required to stay with her grandmother in Seabrook if she does.

The two were arrested at an Orlando theme park Wednesday after two weeks on the run.

The young boy is recovering from severe injuries at Children's Hospital at Dartmouth in Lebanon.

If the suspects are freed on bail, they are forbidden from having contact with one another or the boy.

The two waived extradition and were returned to New Hampshire over the weekend.

Although Dow had agreed they would turn themselves in to police Nov. 19, they instead hid out in Haverhill, Mass., then went to Boston, from where they took a bus to New York, and finally a train to Florida, according to prosecutors today.
