Man wounded in Lawrence shooting

LAWRENCE — One man was wounded in a shooting on Essex Street about 4 p.m. today.

Police Chief John Romero said the man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Lawrence General Hospital. He said police have arrested another man with a handgun who investigators believe was the shooter.

Police reported several shots fired. Detectives were headed to the hospital to interview the victim.
