“This is a wonderful opportunity to continue to grow our newspapers and websites as the leading source of local news in the North of Boston market,” Andreas said. “I’ve made my career here, including being a part of the transformation from print to digital platforms and the 24/7 news cycle. The one constant has been the belief in the power of local news. Local is our franchise.”

Andreas has received numerous awards over the years. She was recently chosen for the prestigious Judith Brown Award from the New England Society of Newspaper Editors, which recognizes the accomplishments and pioneering spirit of an outstanding woman in journalism from the six-state region. She received national recognition from Inland Press for a Salem News series on opiate abuse among youths on the North Shore. Northeast Arc lauded her in June with its Media Award in recognition of year-round coverage of issues of interest and importance to people with disabilities and their families.

Andreas is an executive board member of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce, where she was the 2012 chairman. She also sits on the board of directors of The Salem Partnership and the North Shore Alliance for Economic Development.

CNHI newspapers, websites and specialty publications are among the nation’s leading providers of local news and information. The Montgomery, Ala.,-based company serves more than 130 communities in 23 states.
