Derry teen injured in ATV crash

DERRY — A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was involved in an all-terrain vehicle accident in woods off Warner Hill Road.

Giovanni Fuentes of 77 Stonegate Lane, Derry, was injured when the ATV flipped over about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas.

Fuentes was a passenger on the vehicle driven by Eric Pouliot, 17, of 146 Warner Hill, Derry, Thomas said. Pouliot was not hurt.

Fuentes, who injured his shoulder, was taken to Parkland Medical Center. He remained at the hospital overnight and was to be released late yesterday, according to hospital spokeswoman Nancy Notis.

Rescue officials had difficulty transporting Fuentes out of the heavily wooded area. Police and firefighters remained at the scene for at least two hours.
