Fugitive NY shooter arrested in Lawrence

Jonathan Genao, wanted for an alleged shooting in Queens, N.Y., was arrested today in Lawrence.

Detectives from the New York Police Department, members of the U.S. Marshals Massachusetts and New Hampshire Fugitive Task Forces and Lawrence Police arrested Genao at 359 Broadway.

Police found him hiding in an apartment bathroom. Genao will be transported back to New York where he will be charged with assault in the first degree.

Police allege that Genao encountered a rival gang member and fired multiple gunshots. He missed the rival but injured a bystander.
