Former Londonderry coach indicted on sex assault charges

BRENTWOOD — A former Londonderry youth football coach has been indicted on charges he sexually assaulted two young girls.

Timothy Longua, 41, of 7 Lang Way was recently indicted by a Rockingham County grand jury on four counts of felonious sexual assault, two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and a single count of attempted felonious assault.

Longua turned himself in to police on a warrant March 1 and was released after posting $10,000 cash bail.

Longua, a former assistant coach with the Londonderry Wildcats youth football league, is charged with sexually assaulting the 11- and 12-year-old girls during several sleepovers at his home between May 2012 and January, according to a police affidavit.

Both girls said Longua was “drunk” when he allegedly touched them as they slept in the basement, according to the affidavit written by Londonderry police Detective Donald LaDuke.

When police asked Longua if he sexually assaulted the girls, he denied it. Longua also said he had been drinking beer and couldn’t remember what happened that night.

Police learned of the alleged assaults after being contacted Feb. 5 by the state Department of Children, Youth and Families. The department said it received an anonymous report about one of the two girls.

Londonderry Wildcats vice president Eric Morin said Longua helped coach a team of elementary school-aged boys last season, but was no longer a coach with the league at the time of his arrest.
