Former Haverhill fish market poised to become a used car lot


City departments have reviewed the application for a business licence. City officials said Building Inspector Richard Osborne indicated he has no objections to a special permit at this time, while the Fire Department indicated it had no comment at this time but reserved the right to comment on the project with regards to the planning and permitting process as required by safety codes, laws and city ordinances.

“To return the property to an active business role would be advantageous to the city,” Macek added. “It’s not good have vacant properties from the standpoint of the impression it gives.”
