400 homes, businesses in area of Haverhill fire lose power

Will be restored by 7 p.m., National Grid says

HAVERHILL — Hundreds of homes and businesses in the area of this afternoon's fire at the Forest Acres apartment complex lost power, but will have it restored by 7 p.m., National Grid said.

Power to 409 homes and businesses was lost just before 2 p.m. as the fire raged through the building.

The area of the power failure included other buildings in the Forest Acres complex, as well as other homes and businesses in that area of Route 125 in the Bradford section of the city.
