Woman struck by car, seriously injured

LAWRENCE — Police said a woman was struck by a car at Jackson and Avon streets just after 4:30 p.m. today and received serious injuries that may be life-threatening.

Lawrence police Chief John Romero said the woman was unconscious at the scene and has been taken to a hospital.

Police remain on the scene and are conducting an investigation.
