UPDATE Lawrence man, 21, sought in Auburn Street stabbing

LAWRENCE — Local and state police are conducting a manhunt in the Auburn, Elm and Lebanon street areas for a man wanted for slashing his grandmother's throat in an Auburn Street public housing unit.

The State Police Air Wing, Troop A Community Action Team and K-9 section are aiding the search.

According to police the man being sought is Roulouis Felix, 21, whom they said has serious psychiatric issues.

Police Chief John Romero said the victim is in her 60s, and she suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Felix was arrested and charged with trespassing at 393 Chestnut St., Lawrence, on April 25. At that time he gave police and address of 9 Granite St., Methuen, which police said is the home of an uncle.

Methuen Police were checking that home as part of the search today.

Central Catholic High School was temporarily put in lockdown, police said, and area nursing homes and schools were also notified of the search. Area schools eventually did a "controlled release" of students.

The stabbing occurred about 1:15 p.m. and the victim was taken to Lawrence General Hospital.
